KOTA DAMANSARA SECTION 8
This project is a 4,500 sqft bungalow located in Kota Damansara Section 8, conceived as a contemporary home inspired by the spatial richness of Spanish architecture and the timeless architectural language of the Alhambra.
The house sits on an irregular triangular plot that tapers toward one corner of the site. This unusual geometry became a key driver in shaping the architectural strategy. To maximize spatial efficiency while maintaining clarity in planning, the building is organized into two distinct volumes. These blocks are connected at the center by a double-volume space that forms the heart of the house, bringing daylight deep into the interior while creating visual continuity between the two wings.
At the entrance, a brick arch marks the arrival sequence and serves as a welcoming architectural gesture. This arched gateway frames the entry and introduces the Spanish influence of the house in a subtle yet distinctive way. After passing through the entrance and moving beyond the car porch, visitors arrive at a pocket garden tucked within the center of the plan. This landscaped court introduces light, greenery, and ventilation into the interior while creating a calm moment of transition between spaces.
Throughout the house, the architecture draws inspiration from Spanish and Moorish forms, particularly through the use of arches, layered thresholds, and sheltered outdoor areas. These elements are interpreted in a restrained contemporary language, balancing tradition with modern clarity.
Indoor and outdoor spaces are carefully interwoven, allowing gardens, terraces, and open courts to become part of everyday living. The house was constructed over a period of two years, followed by an additional six months dedicated to detailed interior works and custom cabinetry.
“The client shared a vision to reinterpret the spirit of the Alhambra in a modern home.
Without the luxury of a courtyard, recessed gardens at the front and rear bring light, greenery, and quiet moments into the architecture.”
Ar. Firadaus Khazis

Every material and detail was carefully considered to express a contemporary interpretation of Alhambra within a modern home.

Evolution of Media in Roman Empire
The word communication is derived from the Latin root communicare. This was due to the Roman Empire also devising what might be described as a mail or postal system, in order to centralize control of the empire from Rome. This allowed for personal letters and for Rome to gather knowledge about events in its many widespread provinces. More advanced postal systems later appeared in the Islamic Caliphate and the Mongol Empire during the Middle Ages.

Nature of Description
Description is one of four rhetorical modes, along with exposition, argumentation, and narration. Each of the rhetorical modes is present in a variety of forms and each has its own purpose and conventions. The act of description may be related to that of definition.

Description is also the fiction-writing mode for transmitting a mental image of the particulars of a story.

The pattern of development that presents a word picture of a thing, a person, a situation, or a series of events.

The most appropriate and effective techniques for presenting description are a matter of ongoing discussion among writers and writing coaches.
